1. What does "Pomega5" mean?
The Pomega5 name was selected to highlight the star ingredient used in all of our products, pomegranate seed oil, which happens to contain Omega 5 essential fatty acid. We combined the "P" of pomegranate with Omega 5, and the result was Pomega5! For the full history of how Pomega5 came to be, read Our Story.

2. What is Omega 5? Why is it beneficial?
Omega 5 is a rare essential fatty acid obtained from the seed of the pomegranate. It is the only known botanical form of Conjugated Linolenic Acid (CLnA), also known as Punicic Acid, and one of the most potent antioxidants in the world. Its conjugated molecular structure makes it highly compatible with and easily absorbed by the skin, while antioxidants deliver improvements in skin health and appearance by overriding inflammation and naturally eliminating free radicals. Omega 5 also contains a human-compatible form of phytoestrogen that supports hormonal balance and skin health. 3. Can I receive the same benefits of Omega 5 by consuming the pomegranate juice or extract?
No. Omega 5 is found only in the pomegranate seed oil. Research has substantiated pomegranate juice as an excellent antioxidant, but it also contains a significant amount of sugar, and when applied topically to skin does not offer the same benefits that come with Omega 5’s being a Conjugated Linolenic Acid and natural anti-inflammatory. Even less beneficial is the pomegranate extract, typically the leftover pulp solids remaining after the red arils have been pressed for juice and the seeds removed.

4. Who should use Pomega5?
Our products are suitable for men and women alike, especially those who are generally sensitive to cosmetics. We have offerings to address all ages and skin concerns, ranging from oiliness and blemishes to dryness, aging and irritation. Please refer to our skin Regimen Menu to discover which combination of products will most accurately match your needs.

5. Are your products cruelty-free?
Yes. We never test any of our products on animals, and neither do our suppliers. Our products are also free of any animal-derived ingredients (vegan). This promise is reflected in the use of the bunny and "V" symbols that are found on all of our product labels.

6. Who certifies your ingredients? What percentage is organic?
Our ingredients are between 98% and 100% organic. Each ingredient arrives from the supplier with a certificate of authenticity, and we are in the process of applying for ECOCERT certification for the entire Pomega5 line.

While we’d love to guarantee that our ingredients are 100% organic all of the time, we simply can’t, since availability of ingredients can vary with time of year. If a quality version of an organic ingredient is for whatever reason unavailable, we will purchase a local, sustainably farmed variation. Very rarely is this the case, but we believe it’s essential to be transparent about our sourcing challenges and the current reality of developing a truly pure product line. For more information, please read about our sourcing practices.

7. What is the BIO / NATURA seal?
Since the industry has yet to set a single standard for classifying natural products, we decided to develop a seal that represents our own values with respect to product quality and purity. The Pomega5 BIO / NATURA seal reflects our commitment to using only the purest and freshest bioactive organic ingredients in everything that we create and sell. For us, the integrity of each product is the most important aspect of what we do: we will always pay that little extra amount to be able to deliver you the very best and will never corrupt a formulation by incorporating petrochemicals, synthetics, or paraben preservatives. This commitment, we believe, is what makes a product truly efficacious, memorable and genuine.

8. How do you preserve your formulations without the use of parabens?
We are proud to say that we are one of the first companies to be able to preserve our formulations without the use of parabens, petrochemicals, or any synthetically derived ingredients. All Pomega5 products (apart from the cleansing bars and Daily Revitalizing Concentrate ampoules, which are naturally stable) are preserved using a botanical preservative system based on a proprietary blend of plants, natural fruit acids and salt, all of which are ECOCERT certified.

9. Are Pomega5 fragrances natural?
Yes. We use only organic essential oils and pure botanical essences to fragrance our products. In addition to being aromatic agents, they also possess powerful aromatherapeutic and mood-elevating properties, providing a sensory experience that is extremely different from that of synthetic perfumes.

10. Is your packaging recyclable? Why are you still using plastic for some products?
Yes. All of our packaging is 100% recyclable, even the plastic bottles, which have been certified by the European organic certification organization, ECOCERT. We use glass wherever possible, but have elected to keep a few of our moisturizers in plastic, airtight bottles to protect the formulations from oxidation and deliver the highest quality possible. For more information about our packaging choices, please visit our sustainable practices section.

11. Can I use Pomega5 if I’m pregnant?
Yes. All of our products are safe to apply during pregnancy. They are so pure, in fact, that they can even be used during and following childbirth, and on babies and children.

12. Can I use Pomega5 in conjunction with other products?
Yes, but we don’t recommend it. Pomega5 products are made with bioactive organic ingredients, selected for their compatibility with skin and with each other. By exposing your skin to other treatments and creams at the same time, you will effectively be diluting and diminishing the efficacy of the Pomega5 products. As an analogy, imagine eating a really healthy salad, but following it with a big bucket of fried chicken: the impact on your body is just not the same. We recommend maintaining a regular AM/PM Pomega5 regimen tailored to your skin needs without the interjection of other products, at least until you are able to see the unique results provided by the Pomega5 system.

13. You used to have an Omega 5 dietary supplement. Will it be available again sometime soon?
Yes. Unfortunately, we had to temporarily discontinue this product when we ran out of stock in 2009, but expect that we will begin production again in the latter part of 2010. When the supplement is available, we will make an announcement on the website and in our newsletters.

14. Why is my favorite product called something else?
You may have noticed that some Pomega5 product names have changed. For example, the classic Pomega5 Cleansing Bar is now known as "Lemongrass Clarifying Cleansing Bar." Why this change? We renamed some of the products to better communicate to our customers the features and benefits of each, as well as which are most compatible with particular skin types. You may have also noticed that there are some newcomers to the product line. Pomega5 previously had a "sister" line called t’Zerah, also the creation of Pomega5 Founder Tzeira Sofer. To simplify matters, we decided to merge both product lines under the new Pomega5 brand and logo, but rest assured, none of the products have been reformulated to be less pure or efficacious. Your favorite Pomega5 and t’Zerah products are still the same - they’ve just received a slight makeover.

15. How can I find out about special promotions?
The best way to learn about ongoing promotions is to sign up for our mailing list by entering your name and email address in the footer of our website (above the Facebook and Twitter links). You will receive a newsletter once or twice a month alerting you to new launches and deals, and often we will tell you about exclusive promotions that are not announced anywhere else. Don’t worry, we will never distribute your information to a third party or send you spam -we hate it when people do it to us!

16. Can I request samples?
We don’t typically distribute samples online, but you may make a request when you place an order by indicating your preference in the message / comment field at checkout. If the item you request is available in a sample size, we’ll include it with your shipment. If you are curious to try a few Pomega5 items, we sell a Trial Kit for $19.50, which includes four of our best selling products and will give you the opportunity to test out the line for a good 7 to 10 days.

17. How can I become a Pomega5 reseller?
Please us an inquiry to [email protected] and let us know a little about you. We are happy to send information and schedule an introductory phone call to review the product line and get you started! Read more about this on our Contact Page.
