Ever notice how that last bit of Healing Cream is always so difficult to extract from the pump jar? You’re not alone - we’ve had many customers come forward and ask us for tips on how they can savor that last bit of cream. While there isn’t a precise science to the process - at least not yet - there are a few creative ideas that we can offer:
1. Unscrew the pump top (it should remove quite easily) and use your pinky finger, if it is small enough, to scrape out some of the remaining cream. Recall that you don’t need much, so don’t dig your finger too deeply inside; you’ll be surprised how much is still in there!
2. Another alternative is to use a Q-tip to extract the remaining cream after the pump top has been removed. This is a good alternative for individuals with larger fingers.
3. Sometimes the cream appears to have nearly run out when you know that shouldn’t be the case (the 50 ml jar contains enough product to typically last users between 1-2 months, depending on extent of daily use). What has actually occurred is air bubbles have lodged inside the air-tight bottle, thereby preventing the cream from passing through. In this case, the best solution is to continue pumping until the air inside compresses and pushes the cream up and out through the top.
The additional portion yielded by unscrewing the top - which actually represents far more than a single ounce - should be sufficient to last you several additional days.
And for those of you who feel cheated for not having been able to collect this additional cream - rest assured because this portion is not considered part of the original 50 ml indicated on the moisturizer label. A little known secret: although that jar reads 50 ml, we actually fill it with 60 ml of cream to compensate for what would be lost if one did not unscrew the pump top to remove the hidden cream. Therefore, by using your pinky to extract the extra cream, you are actually gaining an additional 20% of moisturizer. Talk about getting your money’s worth!
